International Clean Technology Returns Analysis

The International Clean Technology Returns Analysis (ICTRA) is an in-depth study of returns being achieved by venture capital-type investors in the clean energy and green technology industries. ICTRA 2009, the fourth annual study, will expand the North American comparative study as well as analyse returns received on European investments. The results of the analysis will be available to investors who submit their data for inclusion, and be presented at the European Energy Venture Fair (EEVF) in Zurich on 21st September 2009 and in a comprehensive 60 page report.

Who can participate?
Investors who have made at least one venture-type investment within the last 7 years in a European or North American clean energy/green technology company.

Confidentiality
All information provided is pooled and anonymised for analysis. Information is isolated from all other New Energy Finance services and is only seen by the New Energy Finance ICTRA team. Confidentiality is paramount and is covered by strict terms and conditions.

Returning participants
Investors who participated in the 2008 survey may access last year's data after registration for ICTRA 2009 has been completed and verified.

Innovations for ICTRA 2009
In response to feedback from last year, this year's report will:

  • Continue to provide comparable analysis on investments in water, recycling, nuclear and clean coal.
  • Expand last year's pilot study of North American investment activity into a full-scale piece of analysis.
  • Make the 60-page Full Report and Executive Summary available, at no cost, to all survey participants.
  • Provide a secure online platform for submitting data, including a facility for returning participants to access and update their last year's data.
